ABOUT League Two
The last professional league in England is the League Two – or alternatively known as the country’s fourth tier of football.
League Two, just like League One and the Championship, is made-up of 24 teams. In this division, the top three teams enjoy automatic promotion while the next best four sides go into a play-off in order to determine the fourth promoted side.
With regards to relegation, there are only two teams who at the end of the season drop out of the division. A team which is relegated from League Two is considered to have “dropped out of the football league”. Dropping out of the realms of professional football can often be financially challenging for clubs as they prepare to enter the National League.
