ABOUT US Open Cup
The Lamar Hunt US Open Cup – more commonly known as the US Open Cup – is a knockout football competition in the Unites States.
Since 2014 at least 80 clubs have entered the US Open Cup. These clubs come from the top four professional leagues in the country as well as semi-professional and amateur divisions.
Winners of the Cup receive $300,000 in prize money and a highly coveted group stage place in the CONCACAF Champions League. The furthest advancing amateur sides from each of the lower leagues also receive $25,000.
Founded in 1914, the US Open Cup is the oldest active football competition in the US.
